This term we will be spending time on persuasive text, narrative text and information report writing. We have been studying some dreamtime stories during our NAIDOC celebrations, using our narrative structures to help us identify the elements of these stories. We have summarized 3 dreamtime stories into comic strips.
Our English program will revise homophones, similes, contractions, pronouns, proper nouns, adjectives, adverbs, connectives, past, present and future tense and various punctuation.
The Reading comprehension strategies we will focus on are predicting, questioning, summarizing, connecting and monitoring.
Don’t forget to use the online program Studyladder to consolidate these skills. All children can successfully log onto their Studyladder accounts independently.
