Book Week

What a fantastic celebration we had today of Book Week! Thank you to everyone for dressing up as your favourite book character.  Enjoy some of these photos. 

Book Week Buddies

We had a great time reading a book to our buddies from the Room 2 Kindy Blue class on Wednesday. We practiced reading our stories beforehand to include expression and make the story more interesting for our buddy.

Fairy Bread

Last week we studied a book called Fairy Bread - one of Mrs Harders' favourite books. Ask your children to tell you the story.

We made fairy bread similes.

We looked at the characters and setting, problem and solution in the story

We made text to self connections.

We did a story map - who, what, when, where, why.

 

We looked at Word Schema - what we already know about words from the story.

We wrote a procedure on How to make Fairy Bread
