We have been studying the Swan River in Geography and History. We have learnt heaps of amazing facts about our River.
Recently my family and I took a fabulous trip around the Swan River.
We parked the car in the free parking spots on Mill Point Rd in South Perth. The free spots are down the Narrows Bridge end. Then we walked along the river shore to the Mends Street Jetty. We then caught the ferry across to Elizabeth Quay. It’s about a 7 minute ride. The ferry stops right inside Elizabeth Quay! We then took a 10 min walk around the Quay. The children’s water playground is fantastic. The Duyfken Replica is on display at the moment – it’s amazing, and opposite that is a fantastic discovery playground for the kids to play in. We then visited the Bell Tower. We have been discussing where the bells inside came from in class. When you walk over the bridge, you can see Kings Park. We have been talking about how Kings Park, the Swan River and Elizabeth Quay got their names in class. While still on the walking bridge, we could see the Narrows Bridge. My family and I enjoyed a Gusto ice cream. Yum!! After that we caught the ferry back to the Mends St Jetty. We love doing this trip at night too, the lights are amazing.
Next time you're in the classroom come and check out our 'Swan River' on the windows.
Looks like you all had a fun time at the picnic :)
